Who’s this Peter Aursnes – aka Jan Peter Aursnes? – Good question.
This is about me. Want to know more about Peter The Jester or Peter the Connoisseur? Well, then click on either, or both.
I am christened Jan Peter Aursnes, but have chosen to use only Peter as my first name mainly because in English speaking countries (at least) Jan is a female name, and most people I meet tend to skip the Peter and only use Jan which is the stand alone part of my name I don not respond to. Call me Peter or even just use my surname and I will respond, but Jan? Never have, and will not in the future either.
I am an author of articles and and the book Unlock Your Future – The Key to a Fulfilling Life. I also work with transitions both for individuals and companies. I am also a social media entrepreneur as well as a Speaker, and finally I occasionally publish podcasts.
In 2006, I left 27 years of successful transition management in the corporate world behind me in order to be free and pursue my own passion, helping individuals and organizations successfulle navigate through transitions. I have changed many organizations and individuals to the positive, myself included, and I am ready to help you as well. I have as the years have gone by, after quitting the corporate world and become a wiser man, realized that there is a radical difference between change and transition. I’ve always said I am not a quick fix guy. I work with transitions, transitions take time, it is their factual nature.
I have a degree in management sciences, hence the 27 corporate years. Further, I am a certified LifeSuccess Consultant, speaker, blogger an social media addict. It is simply much more fun!
A search for excellent mentors in pursuit of further development led me to Bob Proctor and others, and I now enjoy a successful career through my blog PeterAursnes.com, in association with Quantum Leaps Consulting, LLC, West Palm Beach and Oslo; a consulting company I own together with my wife.
Originally I’m from a small fishing village on the west coast of Norway; Hjørungavåg, known for the fierce viking battle that took place between the Norsemen and the Danes in the year 986. Well, we won. (FYI: There are no horns on a real viking helmet, that’s an American invention.)
We, which means my wife, two kids and myself, sold everything we had in Norway in 2007 to move to the United States for a while. It did not come without a lengthy process with the US Embassy, but if you believe in something, you fight for it. Belief and persistence help a lot.
After more than a year in South Florida we moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. Transition. …only to find out a few months later that to renew our visa would be a tedious process with base in Oslo, Norway. That was a process we could not live with, so we decided we had had a wonderful time in the US and it was time to move back to the father country. Transition – a huge transition as it was.
Right now I am working on a long term contract here in Oslo coaching young people (mostly) having been out of work for quite a while. Raising their self awareness, self confidence, self belief to get them to work. For some of them it is a huge barrier to turn up at 9 am every day. It’s a fascinating process. Both to figure out what’s going on inside them and to see them come alive from some sort of “hibernation”. I believe in everybody’s unlimited potential. This is transition work, where the challenge is to leave the past behind. Some of them are carrying a huge load of luggage.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Sciences from The University of Manchester, England. That whole decade from my twenties to my thirtiess was an important transition.
I also spent time as a field delegate with the International Red Cross in Tbilisi, The Republic of Georgia. Another transition, both for them and me. I am through, I am not so sure they are.
Came back to my old company only to realize they had been taken over by new owners; owners which did not appreciate such humanitarian moves at all. Thrown into the neutral zone from one day to the other.
At times I am a witty guy, having a good sense of humor, using understatements a lot, and in some instances sarcasm (after all I am European), but never toward you!
I am an introvert. It is said that introverts are good listeners. And we think. That’s what drive extroverts crazy when they have to deal with introverts for more than 5 minutes. We think.

Hello Peter,
I love your blog. Full of very insightful information of how one can handle the adversities in life.
I’m very excited for your book. I hope to get a copy in the very near future.
I’m in the middle of promoting my album and working on some woman and children accessories designs to sell.
I am a believer you need your own product to feel completely good about yourself! Or to be a part of the making of something good!
Thank you for being you.
Many blessings to you and your family.
Thelma
Thanks Thelma. Really appreciate it.:-)
